In a clear statement on September’2005, the Honourable Delhi Government issued notice to the Central Government on Smoking ban in films and in September’2008 the Honourable Supreme Court of India was very clear on Smoking Ban in public places.

When come to the above mestri, he is a Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha). I don’t think that, what a common man like me can be aware of above laws/notices, a M.P is not aware of. Look at the damn situation in our country. The Honourable courts are making laws and issuing notices to respected governments to ban smoking in public places and this M.P mestri says ‘So what?’ by promoting and encouraging smoking . Look at those gaint movie posters placed at all public places, where this M.P mestri is having a cigarette in smoke-full mouth.

We may not discuss this issue, if a layman does this. But, how a person like Dr. Dasari Narayana Rao, who is a M.P and known well for his aggressive speeches in movies and at public stages about social wellness does this. Can he achieve the social wellness by putting huge smoking poster at public places? I am not aware of what message he gave in this movie, but the message to public is clear by this posters. “Smoke where you want, when you want. Law is for courts and lawyers only”.

He may be a great personality in the country and have too much of power back-up, but he is not larger than country and greater than Law. Is it true that our laws are so weak ,that we can not do anything, who breaks law fearless. Anyone hearing?

The RTA (Road Transport Authority) issues and maintains the vehicle details registered in Andhra Pradesh state. While registering, the RTA provides a unique identification number for every vehicle owner to display on their number plates. This unique identification number called Registration Number of the vehicle. For all this process, the RTA charges the vehicle owner very minimal amount and gives a random registration number, subject to RTA policy and availability.
<img data-attachment-id='69' data-orig-size='768,1024' data-liked='0'width="112" height="150" src="http://mndairy.files.wordpress.com/2009/04/govt-vehicle1.jpg?w=112&h=150" class="attachment-thumbnail" alt="govt-vehicle1" title="govt-vehicle1" />
<img data-attachment-id='70' data-orig-size='600,800' data-liked='0'width="112" height="150" src="http://mndairy.files.wordpress.com/2009/04/govt-vehicle2.jpg?w=112&h=150" class="attachment-thumbnail" alt="govt-vehicle2" title="govt-vehicle2" />
<img data-attachment-id='71' data-orig-size='480,640' data-liked='0'width="112" height="150" src="http://mndairy.files.wordpress.com/2009/04/govt-vehicle4.jpg?w=112&h=150" class="attachment-thumbnail" alt="govt-vehicle4" title="govt-vehicle4" />

If you got a Registration number “1″ “007″ “999″ “555″, you will be a heaven touched lucky person. But, it never happens. Why because, those numbers are called premium numbers or called fancy numbers in general. One has to pay from thousands to lakhs or even crores of rupees in a bid to win that registration number. Big shots and millionaires do that regularly whenever they have a new vehicle at their shed. That is where the RTA earns good money every month.

Everyone vehicle owner loves to have a fancy number on their number plates. I love “121″ and when I went for my vehicle registration, I inquired about this number and surprised to know that, it is a premium number and have to pay Rs.5,000/- for that. Then I choose a random number as I don’t have that much money for vehicle number.

But these days when you see on roads, 5 out of 10 governments vehicle number plates displays fancy numbers. Not a silly fancy number like “121″ ”787″ or any. Those numbers like “4444″ “5555″ “345″, these numbers in public bid costs someone easily anywhere from lakhs to crores of rupees. My question is, how much a particular department, who is the fancy number owner paid to Dept of Road Transport Authority?

Not paid, got freely? Then we ask, why should the RTA give these high valued fancy numbers at free of cost to these departments instead of selling them for high bid rate, where the buyers are voluntarily interested in this numbers. When you can earn some money legally and people are ready to buy it, why to give freely. Is RTA a charitable organization? If so why is it selling other numbers at high costs? RTA, any answer please.

If paid heavily, is it required for a public service department to spend such huge money just to put a fancy number on their vehicles number plates? You say they are higher officials, so what sir? Let them have a “1″ on their personal vehicles by paying in bid, why for the official vehicles? I work for a telecommunication company, I have a fancy mobile number which will cost Rs.3,000/- for a customer outside. I got it by paying Rs.2,000/- from my pocket. At least, is it practicing at your levels? How many officials paid from their pockets for their fancy numbers?

If at all, you require special number on Govt vehicle number plates, you can block a certain number series, which looks disciplined or a special registration practise like Indian Military does for their vehicles. But, please stop spending huge public money on useless expenditure like this. Instead of this wastage, spend money on some good programs.

In the blockbuster movie “Lageraho Munnabhai“, there is a situation where Mr. Murali Prasad Sharma addresses the senior citizens about Mahatma Gandhi and to an answer he says “….turn down all statues of Mahatma in the roads, parks & wherever, take down all the photos placed on walls, and……., if you want to keep somewhere, let’s have a place for Mahatma in our hearts“. Forget about in hearts, it’s our sorry state that we don’t even keep his statues at good places, other than the big one before assembly. Sorry, that’s a different story here.

Our Andhra Pradesh government is spending billions of rupees for widening roads and for providing good infrastructure for citizens. Don’t ask who is a real beneficiary? But, when you are spending money, why can’t you plan in a better way to do this. I fully appreciate that you are building great roads and widening them for us, us?

Please look at Somajiguda & Nagarjuna circles, which are in the heart of city, where at peak times the average speed is 10kms or below. To widen these circles, millions of rupees has been spent, but is it the best effort? If we have a close look, in those circles we find two statues of two different great personalities of our country. The question here will not be, who are they? Question of hour is, really citizens of Hyderabad need those statues there.

Take the Somajiguda circle, when someone is coming from Rajbhavan road towards CM camp office, the driver has to drive very carefully to turn his vehicle at this circle, as he/she may go and hit this statues as this statue stand exactly opposite and beside this there is traffic island, where no police stands inside here, times it happened someone hits this traffic islands also. To say about someone, who is coming from Begumpet and going towards Panjagutta, the driver of vehicle can’t see the road towards Panjagutta, all that he/she can see is only the statue in front of them. Take a half circle around the statue and then go. Here, half of the road is completely occupied by this giant larger than life statue (check out above pictures).

Take Nagarjuna Circle. Flyover built, roads widened, traffic is diverted and now it’s okay. It’s okay only than past, why can’t we make it perfect. Here, again the same story, story of another statue and vehicle drivers. The whole road is widened and created a lot of space for vehicles, thanks for it. But, look at this giant statue in middle of this circle. Not from a single way, from all three ways this statue is standing in middle, except from Road no 1 to Road no 2. As a new mega shopping mall coming at this corner, in future this corner will also gets busy with parked vehicles and standing people, then no exceptions to this corner also.

As I given example of Lageraho Munnabhai dialogue, if we want to respect our Leaders by placing statues in public places, keep them a side of road, or like as Tankbund. If these statues are placed many days back, before all these developments, then why can’t we replace them to another place, as we did to Telugu Talli idol in the past? When we can replace Telugu Talli idol, can’t we do it those statues. Please no debate of, is Telugu Talli great or those leaders?

Don’t mix citizen rights and facilities with politics. After all, all leaders are there for citizens and for their interest. Do needed, to provide us better infrastructure.

<img data-attachment-id='39' data-orig-size='432,576' data-liked='0'width="112" height="150" src="http://mndairy.files.wordpress.com/2009/04/pollution-3.jpg?w=112&h=150" class="attachment-thumbnail" alt="pollution-3" title="pollution-3" />
<img data-attachment-id='38' data-orig-size='480,640' data-liked='0'width="112" height="150" src="http://mndairy.files.wordpress.com/2009/04/pollution-1.jpg?w=112&h=150" class="attachment-thumbnail" alt="pollution-1" title="pollution-1" />

Our great AP government too took charge and felt responsible as same as their counterparts in the world. Color category of industries (Red, Orange & Green) by their pollution levels. Guidelines are written in papers and website for all kind of pollution, i.e., Air, Water, Noise and etc. They aware of all acts right from Water Act, 1974 to Recycled Plastic usage rules, 1998. That’s fantastic and what more a responsible government can think beyond. But, what if there is something beyond this to do?

WMD (Weapons of Mass Destruction, i.e., Atom, Hydrogen, Anthrax and all other hell lot of powerful bombs which can kill hundreds and thousands of people in one go), the whole world is talking about it today and some nations took serious action to stop misusing it, to stop mass destruction. We know all the stories about it. But, the stories we forget to focus is more powerful weapons than WMD. That is CWMD (Citizen Weapons of Mass Destruction), confused! Check this:

Citizens lost their lives or affected by WMD/anti-social elements in Hyderabad are lesser than citizens lost their lives or affected by pollution is. Then why can’t we say it is a weapon of mass destruction possessed by a citizen.

See how irresponsible we are at this issue. Vehicles, industries, garbage and anything that creates/causes pollution is holding/happening by a citizen. A normal citizen like you and me, who never checks their vehicles pollution levels, if aware that his/her vehicle is causing pollution also never took needed action to keep their vehicle pollution free and in tune. Most percentage of this vehicles are auto rickshaw’s, who fill their fuel tanks, engine oil’s with cheap fuel sold by roadside shops, where this fuels are mixed with kerosene and other cheap oil’s. A lot of vehicles causing pollution not only possessed by normal citizens but also with our honorable Government’s also. Government vehicles like APSRTC busses, civil supplies Lorries, some Rakshak’s and some old jeeps. Check the above picture of APSRTC bus, there are a big number of same vehicles plying on roads now.

Industries, now a day’s many honest industrialists are keeping their factories/units pollution free by feeling responsible towards society. But, what all are? I can say no and you can say no. Check the above pictures of industries releasing heavy smoke into air, only God knows what smoke it is and how it affects the health of citizens. The interesting thing is this industries release smoke only between 10pm to 6am, when and where there are no citizens and officers can keep vigilance and can identify there is a smoke release as the smoke mixes in darkness or clouds. And some of these industries are in between of residential areas, established when the city was not expanded like now. But, I don’t think that our responsible officers are not aware of this. Ayyo!

Garbage, for garbage control we must appreciate the officers who is taking care of clearing and dumping timely. But, need focus on open nalaas like in Ashoknagar, Amberpet, Begumpet and many more areas, where the residential colonies are there beside this open nalaas.

The other day, I was not feeling well and visited my doctor. After many examinations and questions he wrote some medicines, advised me to practice Yoga and Meditation for cure and importantly as precaution he advised me to wear mask to rid of pollution, which is the main reason for my illness. As a sales person I spend 5-6 hours a day on roads and had habit of wearing woolen cap to cover ears, air filter for nose and a handkerchief for mouth, leaving only my eyes unmasked and above I wear a helmet from years. As per my doctor’s advice what more precautions I can take while on road. If a person like me who wears all this gadgets and still effected by pollution, what about other who even don’t care to wear a helmet for their safety sake.

“For every illness there is a treatment and any organ can be replaced in this advanced medical technology, if that seriousness is high. So, no need to worry about the pollution”. If officials/authorities want us to understand the above statement and compromise for pollution, as there is a cure. Then cure at what cost and what risk? We always believe that precaution is better than cure. We heard that there is Pollution control board! I/we understand that whoever wants to understand their responsibility, they already got it.

Please give back our right to live pollution free.

Sorry to name the title…….
But, one who lives in this city Hyderabad more than 24 hours will know how congested the traffic is in this city streets even main roads. Every one knows that.
<img data-attachment-id='33' data-orig-size='640,480' data-liked='0'width="150" height="112" src="http://mndairy.files.wordpress.com/2009/04/car-paked-wrongly-1.jpg?w=150&h=112" class="attachment-thumbnail" alt="car-paked-wrongly-1" title="car-paked-wrongly-1" />
<img data-attachment-id='34' data-orig-size='480,640' data-liked='0'width="112" height="150" src="http://mndairy.files.wordpress.com/2009/04/car-paked-wrongly-2.jpg?w=112&h=150" class="attachment-thumbnail" alt="car-paked-wrongly-2" title="car-paked-wrongly-2" />
<img data-attachment-id='35' data-orig-size='480,640' data-liked='0'width="112" height="150" src="http://mndairy.files.wordpress.com/2009/04/car-paked-wrongly-3.jpg?w=112&h=150" class="attachment-thumbnail" alt="car-paked-wrongly-3" title="car-paked-wrongly-3" />

There are citizens who are two wheelers, three wheelers, four wheeler and not to surprise our own APSRTC city bus drivers drive their vehicle very irresponsibly. Not only driving, parking their vehicle on mid of the busy roads in peak times. Check out the above pictures, I was going to home from Ameerpet to Secunderabad at 6.30pm via Greenland’s, I found this car parked opposite PlanetM towards Begumpet side look above pictures,this gentleman has parked his vehicle with knowledge of the congested traffic there at that time. Every other person was suffering to find a small gap to move on these highly congested roads and people like this gentleman parks their vehicle.

You can see our APSRTC city bus drivers drives their giant vehicles on this congested roads with a feel like they have the steering of Ferrari in their hands. Other commuters get scared when they see these giant things moving nearby. They come with high speed on mid of the road till the bus-stop arrives and all of suddenly this giant vehicle moves towards the left side to bus-stop to serve their passengers. If you are waiting there at bus-stop, you may surprise to see that these 85% of buses never stop at their stops, they just slow down for a second and zaps always with their old Ferrari speed. I don’t know whether these drivers feels that all the bus passengers are trained for Olympics to catch these buses on move. People got injured, scared in process of gaining the last edge of the last step of this buses.Yes, I can see a lot of APSRTC city bus drivers least care of traffic signals, they just want to pass their vehicle from there. We can understand that you drivers have timings and have to complete your trips in your given time, but not at the cost of citizens life.

Two wheeler riders part of this category,God can make them understand. A lot of two wheeler riders are from middle class and lower middle class and sales/courier people who runs all the day on the roads for achieving their targets,who cares and scares of their lives, most of time they are with families or these. They drive their vehicles very carefully and responsibly. But what happens you know, we have two situations. One is, in the process of reaching their destination on time mostly sales/courier people drives their vehicle into corners and edges at life risk, sometime at their over capacity with over confidence. Which they put others into a situation where they feel insecure and get scared. Brothers, please targets can revised and over achieved by given time and taking opportunity but not lives. In the second situation, some two wheeler drivers are very expertise yet brave in handling this amazing machines. Drive their machines on top gear, unstopping accelerating, playing horror and loud horns on their way. They just want to show public how great they are at the co-commuters life risk, some time at their own. You know most of these guys doesn’t have emergency on reaching their destination, then why these all. hello guys, at least you know.

If you are so much excited on handling this machines go out of city where you can find hell lot of vacant place or pay some money to play grounds and do it there. But don’t put some ones life at risk for your fun, you guys are never less than any trainee-criminals. Please feel responsible, other day you drive without responsible the victim may be from your circle or from your own family. Sorry to say this.

And, yeah last but not the least the Pedestrians. Why you all just want to be a sheep group. Crossing roads in between at high traffic roads, jumping over the dividers like practicing for the next national games. You know when you cross the road in between traffic roads, you are almost putting at least five vehicles at risk and your own life also. You are scaring them with your gymnastic stunts. We all know that our Hyderabad roads are always filled up with heavy traffic. But, please find a place like junctions, zebra crossings,wait for the traffic to get slow down or wait till you became of part of a 5+ group waiting to cross road and signal the vehicles that you are crossing. Don’t, give them a surprise.

I know, what I am saying is a bit hard to understand or get out of this present addicted attitude. But, without a change there is no better way to be a part of Metropolitin City or make this city a metro city, atleast better place to live on Earth.

When a 1-2 years back there were a frequents incidents happen with the school children carrying auto’s. Parents, officers, media and everyone got angry, created many rules for these auto drivers,like., not to carry more than 6 school children, not to let them sit beside driver’s seat. And, these auto drivers implemented all this advises and rules. Authorities were happy, parents were happy and the story ended happily.Recently, from so many days I am noticing that so many auto drivers were carrying school children more than 6 and letting them sit behind the driver’s seat. It’s not just sitting, frankly its hanging there. Children love to sit behind the driver’s seat and hang there, why because they can have the feel of they are driving the vehicle. They don’t know the risk involved doing such. But, what! we don’t know it?
What we need some more incidents to wake again to take actions or we let children/parents to suffer on?
Concerned people/authorities, please do needed.

Secunderabad railways station is the hub for all buses plying from Secunderabad. And many organizations, residential apartments also there in this road.

But if you pass this road at any given time, the traffic moves very freely here. You can purchase some good fresh fruits, have some good bakery items or you can see the grand church in there. When clock strikes 1.30pm the show starts. Almost hundred of Auto rickshaws parks there in three rows, more hundred two wheelers occupy the 70% of the road space. You will have only one lane available for both sides. I am seeing this situation from past 5 years, not only me but traffic policies also. Everyone knows why it happens, and for what all these people occupy the roads and stay there for hours, I hope traffic polices also.
To pass the stretch of Garden hotel to Sangeeth junction two wheelers take 20 minutes, cars 30 minutes and for buses, Jesus, they have wait nearby 45 minutes. Why so? Why should we? What really causing the problem? Yes! I know the problem, we know the problem and everyone does that. I hope the government administration also. Then why we cannot found a solution to this.This is not a occasion, happens once a week or monthly. Its a daily picture there, which is causing a big problem for all the people who travel daily by this road, as we/they don’t have any alternate road to take to avoid this mess.
Please, some one accept their responsibility for this mess and show us a solution. We love this road to pass by, but hate to face this situation every day. You can have your own facilities, alternatives and give us our rights to pass this road freely.
